This is old news, now. At this point, it's difficult to tell if it was news because America feels this is the catalyst-image of a new political battleground where the war of culture is fought or if it was just the juiciest headline at the moment. My supposition is that it's a little bit of both. In this case, what we're seeing is a particularly good bit of media fighting which, of course, every channel loves in order to drive ratings. Fundamentally speaking, you can watch this coverage for hours and never learn anything new, such is life.
On the other hand, this is the new political dialog.
